Saturday 9: Papa Loved Mama (1/31/15)

It's Saturday 9 time!  It's Saturday somewhere (not here, it's Friday).  I don't think I've ever heard this song, but here I go......

Papa Loved Mama

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Papa Loved Mama (1992)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Then try this. It's not very good quality, and it may have been pulled by the time you get over to it, because Garth doesn't like YouTube videos. Sorry.

1) This song is about a trucking "accident" that was covered extensively in the local paper. What's the big news story in your neighborhood?  Nothing new right now.  But in the last couple of years we have had several young women be abducted.  Only 2 bodies out of 4 women have been found.  The world's a scary place.

2) The action centers around a motel. When is the last time you stayed in a hotel or motel?  February 2014, and I'll be staying in one next month as well.

3) In the song, Papa wants to surprise Mama with a bottle of wine. Do you prefer white or red?  White!  I don't like reds at all or at least I haven't found one that I like.  It might be because I don't eat red meat and red wines are supposed to go with red meat.

4) This week's featured artist, Garth Brooks, has said that the late Chris LeDoux -- singer, sculptor and rodeo champion -- is his hero. If you had to single out someone this morning as your hero, who would it be?  I'm totally going to be all cliche and say my Mom.  I've put my mom through a lot of crap but she's stuck by me.  Not too many people will.

5) Before he was able to support himself as a singer, Brooks was a bouncer at a bar. Have you ever had an encounter with a bouncer (either that he threw you out or came to your aid)?  Nope.  I generally stay out of trouble and away from the crazies.

6) According to the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), Garth surpassed The Beatles as the top selling artist of the last 25 years. Whose music do you listen to more -- Garth Brooks or the The Beatles?  The Beatles.  I LOVE The Beatles.  I have boatloads of their music and even have a whole playlist with only Beatles' songs.

7) While 1992 was a banner year for Garth Brooks, it was a bad one for another country legend, Willie Nelson. Willie ended up paying the IRS more than $9,000,000. When you file your taxes, will you qualify for a refund? Or will you owe money?  Refund.  I never have them hold any money from my checks.  Too risky for me.  I have had to pay in to the state but that was when I was working part time jobs and they weren't taking state taxes out of my small checks.

8) When this song was popular in 1992, Sarah Ferguson, then the Duchess of York, was in all the papers and magazines for her controversial conduct -- including being photographed sunbathing topless with a man not her husband. Today no one seems to care much about what Sarah Ferguson does. Can you think of someone else whose fame was fleeting?  This is a rather odd question......No, I can't think of anybody else at this moment but give me a minute..... Lindsay Lohan?  She's been a train wreck for years and once you've been to jail 5000 times I really don't think you can recover from them.  But I'm just lil 'ol me, what do I know?

9) This is Super Bowl weekend. Where will you be watching The Big Game?  My living room.  I'm not a professional sports fan, I prefer college sports, but I still watch it.  I enjoy the commercials, half-time show, and the snacks.  Go Seahawks?!

Easy A-Z

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we try to credit the blog that we stole it from. We also provide a link to the victim's meme in our "Previous Victims" widget. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") Sometimes we edit the original meme, to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, to select the best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from this new meme or recently asked questions from a previously featured meme.  Cheers to all of us thieves!!!

Happy Blue Monday

Blue Monday is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year the Monday of the last week in January,  It is said to be the most depressing day of the year because the holiday festivities are over, you're feeling the emptiness of your wallet, and you are usually stuck indoors due to the cold temperatures.

In case you wanted to know, the Happiest day of the year is the 3rd Friday in June.  The 6 month count down begins.  To go with the color theme should this be called Yellow Friday?

Are you feeling blue today?

Saturday 9: The Best Thing about Me is You

I'm gonna try my hand at participating in a weekly blog post called Saturday 9.  I know it's not Saturday but it is in Australia, so yeah, I'm playing by my rules.

I've never participated before so let's see how it goes....

Complete Post from Saturday 9

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: The Best Thing About Me Is You (2010)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) What would you say is your best quality? I am a good friend.  Too good actually.

2) In this song, Ricky sings that he's "allergic to tragedy." Do you suffer from any allergies?  Not really.  I think as I have gotten older I'm developing some seasonal allergies but nothing full blown.

3) Benadryl, the popular allergy medication, is sometimes used to treat insomnia. What do you do when you can't sleep?  I suffer from insomnia.  It's no joke!  Luckily one of the meds I take helps me in the sleep department.  If it doesn't I usually just watch movies or look up random stuff on the internet.

4) The lyrics to this week's song encourage us, "Don't wait untilmañana." Are you a procrastinator?  Yes and I hate it, but I try hard not to be.

5) Ricky Martin is a judge on The Voice ... Mexico, aired on Mexican television. When you watch competition shows like The Voice, Dancing with the Stars or American Idol, do you usually agree with the judges? Or do you think you could do a better job? I used to watch American Idol but I stopped years ago.  Not really big on competition shows.  I get too emotionally involved and feel terrible for the contestants.

6) Ricky tells interviewers that when he was very young, he'd sing in the family kitchen, pretending a wooden spoon was his microphone. Crazy Sam admits to lip synching into a black Magic Marker. When you gave imaginary concerts, what did you use as a microphone? I don't remember using anything for a microphone but I sure did rock out to my Annie and Sound of the Music records (yes, I said records, big black round thing with a tiny whole in the middle).

7) Ricky began working at the tender age of 9, performing in commercials. How old were you when you received your first paycheck?  If we aren't counting babysitting then I was 15.  Retail, it was awful.

8) Ricky does yoga to stay in shape. Have you ever tried yoga?  No, but I tried Zumba once and that was fun.

9) Ricky is of primarily Spanish descent, with a little French mixed in. When you think of French cuisine, what comes to mind?  Escargot and horse meat.  Yuck on both of those things.

Now it's time for your to answer your own Saturday 9 questions.  Go to this week's Saturday 9:  The Best Thing About Me is You blog post and link up!

Conversations

There were three kids who appeared to be siblings, walking home from school through my neighborhood.

Younger boy throws his book bag down the sidewalk
Older boy (maybe middle school age):  Pick your book bag up and don't throw it again.
Younger boy:  Why?  You can't ground me.
Older boy:  No but I can choke you.

Way to go big brother.  Way to go.

Musical Punnies

I laughed out loud on this one.

Miss Look at Me I Know it All

.

I have this friend....well she's a friend of a friend (FoF) and she is the most self-centered person I have ever met.  I'll be having a conversation with a friend and then the FoF interjects herself in to the conversation and makes it aaaaaallllllll about her.
We're in the same room.  If I wanted to include you in the conversation I would have asked you to join.
Seriously, we could be talking about oh I don't now......the Holocaust and she'll jump in to the conversation and say she was there.  That's how obnoxious and self-centered she is.

TMI Tuesday on a Wednesday: January 21, 2015

TMI Tuesday on a Wednesday!

Because we're busy and shit....and 'cause we are adults and can do what ever we want.
1. I am in need of an intervention for my obsession with the Sudoku game on my phone.
2. You are being auctioned off. What is your unique selling point?
Uh........let me get back to you on that one.......  30 minutes later ....*cricket chirp*  Seriously, I've got nothing.  I have a healthy sex drive?  I'm self-sufficient and pay my own bills?  I'm crazy?  I'm gay?  I'm a lady?
3. On a scale of 1-5 how many stars did your mom or dad give your current significant other or your favorite, longest lasting love? (1 is bad, 5 is great)
My current is a 4 (I don't believe in extreme numbers (1 and 5) as there is always room to be worse and there's always room for improvement).
4. Most of the meals I eat are:
a. Cooked in a microwave
b. Cooked in the oven/stove
c. Made by someone else
5. When work and life stress me out, nothing relieves the tension like a drink or listening to some music I can sing along to or sex or my magic little red pills .
Bonus: Write and answer your own bonus question.  **I'm not really seeing a pattern or common theme with the previous questions...so here is my random bonus question.**
What did you want to be when you grew up?
At first it was a fireman, then a lawyer, then a probation officer.  And now?  I just want to be me....

I promise Meme Monday won't always be about Mondays.....

Thank goodness I work alone and don't have to deal with this.

The First Day of my Last Semester

Yesterday was my first day of my last semester at school. Woo-Hoo!  There is an end in sight.  Two classes a week and then I'm done!  Accounting 2 and Financial Management.  Let's do this!

TMI Tuesday: January 13, 2015

1. Where you live what is the current season?
It's winter.  We've had a couple of single digit days, lots of rain, a little bit of sleet, and only about 2 inches of snow.  If it's going to be this cold it needs to snow dammit.
2. Do you measure/report the weather temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit?
The good ole U S of A uses Fahrenheit unlike the rest of the world.  Is there anyone else who uses Fahrenheit?
3. Describe your ideal day of weather?
I LOVE snow!  But I don't think I'd want that everyday.  I guess my ideal day is where I could wear shorts/capris during the day but then need pants at night.
4. When it is cold outside I want to:
a. Run outside naked because it is exhilarating.
b. Bundle up in warm clothes and take a winter walk.
c. Turn the heat up, stay indoors, hibernate until warm weather returns.

d. I do not pay attention to the weather.
5. Do you go “commando” in cold weather or in winter?
Nope.  I don't go commando in warm weather either.
6. For 10,000 USD Would you rather ride a bike for one mile (1.6 km) in 7 degrees  F/ 14 degrees C weather  or jump naked into a freezing cold Alaskan lake in winter?
No contest, totally the bike.  You'd warm up quickly burning energy.  Plus I'm not trying to naked outside in the winter (or any other season).
7. What is your favorite piece of winter clothing?
My jacket.  I don't really have a favorite it's just that I stay cold and pretty much wear my jacket all day every day in the winter.
8. Have you ever worn Long Johns aka long underwear or thermal underwear?
I don't remember any particular instances but I'm pretty sure that I have.
Bonus: Do you have more or less sex in the winter months vs. other times of year?
I don't think the season has any effect on my sex habits.

How to play TMI Tuesday: Copy the above TMI Tuesday questions to your webspace (i.e., a blog). Answer the questions there, then leave a comment on today's TMI Tuesday blog post, so we’ll all know where to read your responses. Please don’t forget to link totmituesdayblog from your website!

Ah-Flu

I got the sickies!  The Doctor said it is probably the flu.  She said that the only Flu medicine is Tamiflu and it has to be taken within 48 hours of the first symptom.  How does that make sense?  We are told not to go to the doctor for every little sniffle but if you don't go then you can get the medicine in time.  Seems seriously wacky to me.

It started with a small cough on Thursday and has progressively gotten worse. Body aches, fever, chills, sinus drainage, and a cough from hell.  My ribs hurt so bad yesterday I couldn't even wear a bra and that's a huge deal for busty women like me.

Advil, Cough Medicine, lots of fluids, and rest it what has been prescribed.  Kind of hard to rest when you can't stop coughing.  UGH!

Throwback Thursday

Ok so I don't normally participate in Throwback Thursday.  TT is where some one posts a picture, usually of themselves, on social media.  Instead of showing you an embarassing photo of myself I present you with a little slice of my childhood.  This is probably going to date me and some of you will not even know what I'm talking about........   Oregon Trail.

Over 2,000 MS-DOS (before Windows and the addition of the mouse) are now available for internet browser play.  My favorites, Oregon Trail and Where in the World is Carmen San Diego plus a bunch others, are now at my fingertips to waste my time away.  Check out the catalog of games HERE and start playing now!

YOU'RE WELCOME!

TMI Tuesday - January 6, 2015

Starting the new year off sexy…

1) What book or magazine have you read recently that turned you on?
Nothing I've read recently has been a turn on in any way shape or form unless you find accounting sexy.
2) What sort of porn do you watch to get aroused?
Haven't watched porn in years (unless you count The L Word, which most people do) but I'm totally ok with it....  Not into specialized porn thought, i.e Granny takes a Tinkle - Yes this is an actual porn title I happened to see at the Adult Store years and years ago.  IMDB totally has a blurb for it....  check it out HERE.
3) What is the sexiest song?
      I dunno......Let's get it on?

4) What music do you like to have on while having sex?
I guess this depends on my mood and the situation.  It could be slow it could be fast as long as it has a good beat.  Although, generally I have the TV on instead of music.
5) When masturbating do you prefer
A) reading smut
B) imagination
C) watching porn
D) I don’t masturbate - hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Bonus:  What is the sweetest sexy song?
Afternoon Delight - I don't know about sexy per se but I find it to be a very sweet love song. Lyrics posted below...

"Afternoon Delight"
Gonna find my baby, gonna hold her tight
Gonna grab some afternoon delight
My motto's always been; when it's right, it's right
Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night
When everything's a little clearer in the light of day
And we know the night is always gonna be there any way

Thinkin' of you's workin' up my appetite
Looking forward to a little afternoon delight
Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite
and the thought of rubbin' you is getting so exciting

Sky rockets in flight
Afternoon delight
Afternoon delight

Started out this morning feeling so polite
I always thought a fish could not be caught who wouldn't bite
But you've got some bait a waitin' and I think
I might like having a little afternoon delight

Sky rockets in flight
Afternoon delight
Afternoon delight

Please' be waiting for me baby when I come around
We could make a lot of lovin' 'for the sun goes down

Thinkin' of you's workin' up an appetite
Looking forward to a little afternoon delight
Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite
And the thought of rubbin' you is getting so exciting

Sky rockets in flight
Afternoon delight
Afternoon delight
Afternoon delight
Afternoon delight
Afternoon delight
